This weekend we took a walk through Bowness Park. We were, quite literally, walking through fall as the leaves detached from the trees and swirled around our heads. It was a golden wonderland, with brilliant coloured leaves both above our heads and below our feet.

I snapped these two pictures during our walk. I love how the trees are on fire with fall – golden and shimmering.

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.
