I am a big fan of comfort reading. This is my favourite book in the Harry Potter series, and I’m currently on page 120 of my 5th re-read. It never gets boring, and it never gets old. When I curl up with it in bed, or on the couch, or outside in the sunshine, it feels like I’m visiting with an old friend. It’s satisfying, friendly and comfortable.

The biggest factor for a comfort book has to be familiarity. When I’m surrounded by familiar characters in a familiar setting formed from the familiar writing style of a well-loved author, I’m in my comfort zone.

Do you occasionally turn to an old book for some comfort reading? What is your comfort book of choice? I’d really love to know!

(A big ‘Hello’ to all of my new blog followers! I’m so happy you’re here.)
