Make Soup.

More specifically, make Grandma’s Hamburger Soup.

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef

1 1/2 med. onion chopped

1 796 ml can tomatoes

2 cups water

3 cans beef broth

2 potatoes, chopped

4 carrots, chopped

3 sticks of celery, chopped

1 bay leaf

1 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. thyme, some parsley and pepper to taste

* Brown meat and onions. Drain well. Combine all ingredients in large pot or slow cooker. Simmer covered, for at least 2 hours, or all day. Serves 10.

Seriously delicious. And, speaking of my Grandma, we had a wonderful weekend in Edmonton celebrating my Grandpa’s 80th birthday. Grandma had a bunch of stuff set up in their room that she was giving away. I scored some tea cups and a cake stand:
