With just hours to go before the Royal Wedding, I’ve whipped up a batch of my Grandma’s scones. These were so easy to make and are absolutely divine.

Grandma’s Scones

2 C flour

1/2 C sugar

3 Tsp. baking powder

1/2 Tsp. salt

2/3 C milk

1/2 C cold margarine

1 egg

1/4 C currents or raisins

Mix the dry ingredients together.

Cut in margarine.

Beat egg lightly and add to milk. Pour mixture into dry.

Add raisins or currents if desired.

Stir with a fork until combined.

Pat into 6 inch rounds on a greased pan.

Brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar.

Score top with a knife into wedges.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes or until risen and golden brown.

Serve warm with butter, jam or honey!

*My sister had a great idea to add cheese into the dough before baking for cheese scones! I’m going to do this on the next batch.
